Imitone: An application that composes music with your voice
Have the idea of a song, the tune playing in your head but do not have a keyboard or any instrument at hand. Worse, if you do not know how to play any instrument. The solution to this is called “imitone”, an application that can serve you for your voice, humming or whistling becomes music you can listen to and share with everyone.
How it works?
This software works with a virtual MIDI device, which uses the computer microphone to capture the sound of your voice which is then detected by the software and decryption in the corresponding musical note. Since this is a virtual device, you can configure other music editing apps such as Apple’s Garage Band can lead our singing to other instruments such as flute, violin or guitar.
The application is available for both PC and MAC after you finish your development. The project by developer Evan Balster and designer Richard Hogg are seeking funds on Kick starter where hope to raise at least $ 20,000 to bring this software to the masses. If you want to join the beta version should work with at least $ 20 to the campaign.
However, it is not the first program that offers this functionality. For iOS users, ScoreCloud Express turns your voice scores. For desktop users, Digital Ear converts voice and other documents in MIDI files. And are the popular Sibelius and Finale, specialized software in music composition and notation for our computer.
Definitely have great curiosity with music that users can create using this new platform.
