Analysis/Review - Rayman Legends: Get ready to smile

Rayman Legends is the direct sequel to the excellent Rayman Origins to be released in 2011. Some may know of Rayman by mobile version that was released last year on iOS and Android, other perhaps the Raving Rabbids that were launched in 2006 with the Wii and they are super funny. Or perhaps know of its true origin back in 1995 when he left for the PlayStation 1. But the franchise has evolved quite right 18 and Rayman Legends is perfecting a formula that ensures fun for the whole family.

Rayman Legends

There is not much story to tell. Rayman and his friends have taken a nap than 100 years and are awakened to rescue creatures called Teensies. The only way is jumping platforms, collecting items and giving blows the bad guys, which is what we do best Rayman.

The graphics and animations are awesome. They are possibly the most attractive I’ve seen in games of this type. The attention to detail and variety of settings ensure you never feel repetitive. On one level they are escaping from a giant wrestler jumping on platforms made of guacamole, and another will be on the seabed playing at being James Bond. What makes you think what fun it must be creative sessions the game developers.

They were amazed at the variety of content you have this game.

were amazed at the variety

Another thing you will notice is the frequent doses of positivism that exposes you to. Every time you find a secret or you complete a level you feel like they’re celebrating your birthday. This feeling is reinforced by the excellent sound effects and flawless soundtrack.

Which brings us to one of the most fun parts of the game that are the musical levels? In total there are only about 6 but are very good. What they do is combine the best of Mario and Guitar Hero an experience without precedent. Classical Music, Rock & Roll, heavy metal and J-Pop can be played in perfect synchronization between sound and images. It’s like if you were doing jumping and pounding music. It is just great to watch the video below:

Bam-a-Lam!

Bam-a-Lam

The controls are incredibly accurate and accessible, even for a child of 5 years. They can play alone or with up to 4 friends locally. Another interesting mechanic is when the fairy Murphy has to interact with the scene. In fact the game was designed to leverage the capabilities of the Wii U but has been elegantly adapted to all other platforms using an additional button.

If you do not smile in musical levels means you are dead inside

smile in musical levels

  • Unlocking everything the game has to offer will probably take you more than 20 hours and that’s without counting:

  • Daily and weekly challenges that you can compete against the world

  • The 40 remastered levels from Rayman Origins.

  • 8-bit versions of musical levels.

  • And Kung Foot, but that is football with punches. He could have been a game in itself because it is incredibly fun.

  • So essence sure Rayman Legends continue playing for several months.

The only points that prevent this a perfect game is that when more than 2 players on screen, things can get a little chaotic and there are some advanced levels that are ruthlessly difficult that could frustrate the less experienced. So do not think that having cute cartoons this is an easy game. Good thing the challenges always feel fair, thanks to the excellent level design.

This is a game that exercises your perseverance and muscles of your fingers.

Did you know?

  • The game was scheduled for release exclusively on WiiU in March this year but decided to postpone the launch Ubisoft to adapt to different game consoles. However, the implementations of that mechanical advantage control WiiU are the best we’ve seen to date.

  • The creator of the series Angel Michel is responsible for several top titles including Ubisoft: Beyond Good & Evil and King Kong. It is considered by many as the French Miyamoto.

  • Rayman 4 was supposed to be the next great adventure Rayaman back in 2006, but the large number of mini-games made him a new franchise with the Raving Rabbids.

  • Apple named Rayman Jungle Run as the best game of 2012 in iPhone.

Pros:

  • Excellent animations and graphics.

  • Excessive doses of happiness.

  • Buenos controls.

  • Accessible.

  • Impressive array of content.

  • The challenges thanks to the great level design.

  • The best use of the Wii U gamepad to date.

  • Hours and hours of fun.

  • The musical levels.

  • The Kung Foot.

  • Fun for the whole family.

Cons:

  • It’s easy to lose sight of what happens when there are 4 players on screen.

  • The battles with the bosses might be a little more fun.

  • Advanced levels are ruthlessly difficult.

Verdict:

The real magic is that Rayman manages to 4 people sit in a couch and just have fun. I can play with their cousins, with their girlfriends, their parents, their grandparents, and I assure you that will make you smile. They are titles like these that inspire the industry to create extraordinary experiences that can be enjoyed universally. This is a refined, elegant, attractive, varied and above all fun.

Rayman Legends is not only the best Rayman has been released to date, but is also arguably the best platformer of the year and should not miss in your collection.

The game is now available on PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita and Wii U.

Analysis: Fez - The Game That Reminds You How Much Fun It Was Being a Child

Fez is an independent title that was released in 2012 for Xbox 360, but also came to PC a few weeks ago. This is a platform game that pays tribute to classics like Mario Bros. and Metroid, while introducing new mechanics. No matter the age, gender, or ability to control, this is an experience that everyone should try at least once.

Gomez You control a character who looks like he’s made of marshmellow living in a world in 2 dimensions. Until one day he receives the power of a FEZ, this traditional Turkish hat allows you to change the perspective of your world in 3D. With this core mechanics have to turn and switch planes to advance levels.

The objective of the game is to collect the pieces of nature that are scattered around this world full of color. Many will be easy to find, but most are hidden and require solving ingenious puzzles.

Fez

There are no magical powers, or supernatural abilities. All puzzles are solved just jumping from side to side and rotate your view of the world. For more boring than it sounds I assure you is one of the most rewarding experiences you will play this year. Clues to solve more complex puzzles ranging from the use of vibration control to decode QR codes.

FEZ is a constant treasure hunt.

FEZ is a constant treasure hunt

The graphics are a tribute to the era of 8-bits. Each stage is filled with attractive details, some of which are clues to solve new puzzles. Music is also one of the nicest. Some melodies are so catchy I ended up humming in the shower.

Fez took nearly 5 years of development, with very few people sometimes just 2 teams. The story of its creator Phil Fish deserved to be part of Indie Game the Movie, a documentary that focuses on the development of independent games also recommend.

It will take about 10 hours to finish the game for the first time, but to find all the pieces of cubes and decipher the secret language of symbols that will guarantee you playing for several weeks.

Often the game reminds us why we like to play both games.

Pros:

  • Exploring a new world.

  • Clever puzzle using the central mechanics.

  • Hundreds of secrets.

  • Extraordinary amount of detail in the art.

  • Excellent soundtrack.

  • Buenos controls.

  • Quite content.

  • Bring out your inner child.

Cons:

  • Some puzzles are very, very difficult.

  • Some technical problems.

Verdict:

Not recommending Fez parraré the world. That satisfaction of constantly discovering new things, opening secret doors and exploring unknown worlds is something few modern titles can offer. Reminds us of a time when simple things could be more fun, not only in games but in our lives. Fez makes you agree with their innocence and purity much fun it was being a child.

Now available for PC and Xbox 360 only $10.

Apple iPhone 4 Review

InfoSync testing the Apple iPhone 4 and concludes – The image quality of iPhone 4, the beautiful Retina display, the ability of Web chat, multitasking in iOS redesigned 4 delicious build quality and fast operation, this is the closest I’ll be the best in the pyramid of entertainment.

Apple iPhone 4 Review

But we do not like the same typecasting in ringtone notification industry, and we feel we should have had the power of choice to have the ringtone of Legend of Zelda ever we received an email.

Apple should have done a better job in iOS 4 to give a push to the future with regard to the integration of web services.

The Motorola Droid last year has Google Maps with free guided navigation.

In addition, we will soon have the BlackBerry Bold 9800 slider touch with BlackBerry 6 OS released by AT & T that integrates corporate Gmail. In the early days of the iPhone, to be the leader in taking advantage of the new Google service was one of its merits.

We are sure that Apple has a plan for the future in terms of Web services and believe iTunes and App Store continue to improve.

However, 2010 will not be remembered as the year that Apple really won in the world of smartphone. Mainly be remembered as a year that Apple spent most of its resources to catch up to its previous limitations.

Naturally, as requested technical of iPhone 4 are as important as any for devotees iPhone 4 users and as such is a great addition to the smartphone market for many (along with iPhone 3GS 8GB to $ 100).

However, as the “Jesus phone” simply falls short since there are other smartphones in the market that also have functions that people did not know I wanted today.

If you’re looking for an entertainment device tip, we can safely recommend the iPhone 4, but if you’re looking for the best smartphone, probably the iPhone 4 is not your best choice.

Beyond: Two Souls - Analysis/Review: Beyond Movies And Games

David Cage is the director and studio head Quantico Dreams. For over a decade he has experimented with new ways of telling stories and interactive tools to leverage video games provide. His most recognized titles include Indigo Prophecy and Heavy Rain, both acclaimed by putting the player in difficult situations where there is no right or wrong decisions. All your projects are so focused on the characters of the story and the techniques used blur the line between movies and video games that surprises yet cool. This year brings us his last great adventure for this generation of PlayStation with Beyond: Two Souls as discussed below.

Not all games are about shooting things or get the highest score.

Beyond Two Souls

The story focuses on Jodie, a girl who was born spiritually attached to a supernatural being called Aiden. Implicitly we placed the question of who is this ghost, where it comes from and why this child is attached. Beyond takes us to see 15 years of the life of Jodie and presents them through a disordered line while we relive key points of the star. The journey leads her to make an important decision at the end of the experience and up to you to decide your destiny having gone through the whole adventure.

Beyond Two Souls1The narrative techniques have improved over Heavy Rain and the way in which you present the options are more fluid. However, beyond the story he wants to tell is not as intriguing as the previous game. The premise of “discovering what lies beyond “is much less tangible than finding the” murderer origami”. While, despite the chronological disorder has worked in movies like Memento and Pulp Fiction, does not apply so well to Beyond. Different scenes work individually, but not articulated each other when trying to connect the dots. Rather than creating mystery, this has generated confusion among players.

The story is so random that can confuse players.

Beyond Two Souls2One thing that stands out is the powerful performance of Ellen Page. His reactions to situations like a party teen or attempted rape in a pub are themes that had never played video games. Scenes on paper may not sound as good are saved by the convincing performance of the actress.

Although William Dafoe, also has some good scenes, its contrasts too much with the role of the protagonist and fully finished in the background. The same happens with the other characters. Beyond acting ability I think was due to the way they are structured dialogues.

Ellen Page’s performance falls short of the nominees for the Golden Globes

Beyond-Two-Souls-Gameplay-4-300x168 Graphically I think there is not much to discuss. Beyond is the best game with facial detail that has been seen in this generation of consoles. The new motion capture technology ensures that every detail of the actors translate the game and really feel like you’re watching Ellen Page and not to an artificial model. Similarly note are the beautiful sceneries that come your way and awesome effects hair and water that really blew me speechless.

Supplement excellent soundtrack composed by Lorne Balfe and supervised by the great Hans Zimmer, who also worked on hit films like Inception and The Dark Knight.

The graphics are so good that sometimes do not know if I was watching a video or playing a video game.

Beyond-Two-Souls-Gameplay-3-300x168

Controls mainly focus on Jodie who traditionally controls the joystick. The novelties are the scenes where you have to complete their movement in mini events in slow motion. But the animation of these parts is sometimes not very clear and finishes the game by mistake. The other mechanism that is introduced Aiden is able to control the ghost. This frees you up and puts you in control of a floating camera that can perform certain actions depending on the scenario. You can move objects, choking enemies and possess certain individuals. Despite being one of the most fun elements of the game, I feel that I could make much better between the duo Jodie and Aiden stop create better puzzles.

No Game Over in this game. If you fail a move or choose a different option the only thing that happens is that your characters takes a different path, but always arrive at the same destination. Unfortunately this takes challenge to the game and makes you feel more like a spectator, rather than the person controlling the experience. It will take about 8 or 9 hours to finish the story, but are likely to return to see the alternate endings.

Which Mobile Phone this Christmas gift for above 500 Euros?

Our particular review guides two recommendations the six phones for less than 200 Euros, and the other six mobile between 200 and 500 Euros.

In the last part we will focus on those high-end Smartphones that spend 500. That price range is not available to everyone, but if you decide and you were good, you will count with the best of the best in performance and design.

The selection for this Christmas 2013 is the cream, and this year the manufacturers have many good news in that segment where aspirations are high.

iPhone 5s

iPhone 5s

The flagship of the year Apple came up with important developments: so much so that the iPhone 5S has become a terminal much demanded that the iPhone 5C, mate launch the “false midrange” in which Apple wanted to direct it.

The new terminal has the new Apple A7 processor with 64-bit support, in addition to the fingerprint sensor Touch ID and, of course, the new mobile operating system from Apple, iOS 7 whose first applications take also advantage of such topics as M7 coprocessor to monitor physical activity.

The camera of this handset is also improved slightly, but mostly included burst modes to select the best photo (automatic or manual) and a unique slow motion mode that records at 120 frames per second and with which surprising results.

Nokia Lumia 1020

Nokia Lumia 1020

If there is a clear example of the importance that photography has on Smartphones is the Nokia Lumia 1020, with its 41 MPixel sensor has meant a revolution in Smartphones such “converged”.

The Nokia device is not perfect, of course: the time of release of the camera and capture the footage is longer than desirable, and the battery falls short to the intensive photographic function. But if we live with those “buts”, we will find a great terminal.

In fact, it is one of the Windows Phone devices of the year-if it is not “the” device WP year-with a screen as in other Lumia is exceptional and with a design that provides an almost perfect balance between their benefits such as a camera and Smartphone.

HTC One

HTC One

This Taiwan based manufacturer has not had a particularly outstanding year and many internal problems that happened. However, they have presented one of the terminals protagonists of this 2013:

For many, was the star of the first terminal half of the year, even above a Samsung Galaxy S4 promised to conquer the world. The design of the HTC One and its particular placement of the speakers with Beats Audio technology was one of its distinguishing features, but there were other important factors to note in this device.

For example, your support and 802.11ac WiFi of course its 4.7-inch screen and full HD resolution. A provision that this a priori promised a revolution in the market (and that incessant battle for Mpixel) adds its Ultra pixel camera, which eventually was often not as competitive as the new models from other manufacturers. However and with that, the terminal remains clear and prominent candidate for any letter to Their Majesties the Kings.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Samsung Galaxy Note 31

The latest iteration of the famous family of phablets Samsung has been a surprise: the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was for many-including us-the real star of this manufacturer of the year, overtaking the S4.

The new device is not for everyone, of course, its 5.7-inch screen can be intimidating to some users, but you probably already have heard: who phablet not try a back screen sizes smaller than those diagonals “immense”.

The Note 3 is not out just for that, but your processor (Snapdragon 800, accompanied by no less than 3 GB of memory), 13 Mpixel cameras or design, in which the S Pen receivable becomes very relevant. In fact, the Samsung software offering is especially relevant in this terminal and the S Pen, with much access to useful features that support the use of the stylus.

LG G2

LG G2

The partner of Google in their last two editions of Nexus Smartphones did not want to lose the pulse of this type of high-end devices, and a few weeks ago introduced its LG G2, a device that stands out as having, for example, one of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800.

Also highlighted in this terminal its 5.2-inch screen, which have integrated without the overall dimensions of the Smartphone are increased significantly. For a diagonal like this, our tests showed that it is a surprisingly comfortable in the hand terminal.

But the other option is surprising is the position of the power and volume buttons -users here asking for a mouse scroll wheel type that had not already been put bad idea that just below 13 Mpixel cameras also offers significant benefits. The good range of terminal one terminal rounded candidates to form part of that letter to Santa.

Sony Xperia Z1

2013 was an important year for Sony, especially in mobility, where the company has proven to return back to the land of the great. Your Xperia Z it showed in the first months of the year with this unique water resistance, but their shortcomings they left something behind compared to its rivals, which was responsible for solving the new Sony Xperia Z1.

This terminal inherits all the good properties of Xperia Z, but also adds a better processor-again, a Snapdragon 800 – and 20.7 Mpixel camera that, yes, behaved erratically, with great shots but also some disappointing results.

However, their design, their resistance to water or dust and excellent battery – no less than 3,000 mAh- what are becoming an excellent candidate for any user of high-end Smartphones.

We compare their characteristics

The specification tables should be viewed with perspective-are not a clear indication of the quality of a Smartphone, but they let you bring references. We therefore consider it important to include, as in the above guidelines, a comparative table with the most important specifications of these terminals, also addressing these five key aspects to choose Mobile.

Review Sony Ericsson W8: Walkman

Sony Ericsson introduced the new Sony Ericsson W8, the first Android Smartphone with Walkman brand of the manufacturer, a few months ago and today we have our hands on a unit for review.

Sony Ericsson W8

The Sony Ericsson W8 inherited many things from the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, an Android smartphone halfway between the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini and the most powerful Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.

The W8 Walkman X8 retains the hardware, but adds more color housings and Android 2.1 with Timescape UI. Compared with previous offerings like Walkman Sony Ericsson Yizo, the SE W8 is wonderful, with access to Android Market applications, connectivity to social networks and capacity for hundreds of songs on your microSD memory.

Key Features

  • Display TFT capacitive touch screen of 3 inches with 16 million colors

  • Android 2.1 Éclair with custom UI Sony Ericsson Timescape

  • Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz processor, 168 MB RAM

  • 128 MB internal storage, microSD slot with support for cards up to 16GB, 2GB card included

  • 3 mega pixel camera with fixed focus and geo-tagging, VGA video at 30fps

  • protective layer against scratches

  • Connectivity Wi-Fi b / g

  • Bluetooth v2 .1 A2DP

  • GPS, digital compass

  • microUSB

  • 3.5mm headphone Listing

  • Stereo FM Radio with RDS

  • Accelerometer

  • Integration with social networks

The Sony Ericsson W8 is a smartphone for those who want to enter the world of smart phones, thanks to its low price. However, it comes with some disadvantages own that could make many choose other market offerings. Its 3 megapixel camera lacks flash and has advanced features, being almost perfect to share a few photos with social networks without asking for more.

The Android 2.1 Eclair version is somewhat outdated and, considering that Sony Ericsson does not plan a update to W8, the storage means is limited applications besides lacking multi-touch.

The SE W8 itself stands out in the music category, with superior audio quality for mobile segment, thanks to the Walkman brand.

Accessories

The accessories included are basic and found a charger that includes the microUSB cable (which is also used to connect the phone to the PC), a 2GB microSD card and a headset with music control. The headphones do not honor the Walkman brand and while they sound decent, are not advanced the in-ear type; do not have rubber cover and remote control lacks advanced features. Audiophiles prefer to buy a more advanced quality headphones to enjoy music W8.

Design

The Sony Ericsson W8 has an elegant design – as every phone manufacturer – and weighing 104 grams, the difference from other Smartphones to carry in your pocket instantly noticeable. However, is its excessive width, 15 mm what might disappoint? Anyway, it’s a convenient smartphone to use it without using both hands to operate simultaneously, as in the case of phones with larger screens.

Its capacitive screen is very responsive and allows fluid handling of all functions with good visibility. In outdoor lighting conditions, visibility is complicated and the fact that Sony Ericsson interface does not provide an automatic brightness (despite having light sensor) further complicates things.

In the bottom it has three navigation keys, sensitive and good, while on the right side we have the volume controls and the camera shutter.

At the top we find the 3.5 mm jack extended (in the case of Sony Ericsson headphones use advanced features), the ignition technology, which acts as blocker/unlocker screen (protected for accidental starts) and port protected by a cover microUSB accessible

In the back, we can see the camera lens, the Sony Ericcson logo along with the Walkman logo and a small slit for the speaker.

On the front, in addition to the speaker phone have LED status, proximity sensor and light sensor.

Inside, we found a 1200mAh battery that provides an acceptable range for its size SIM slot and microSD slot that, despite being hot-swap, it is impossible to access it without removing the battery. Its casing is removed Side Efforts to remove it and it seems that it is very easy to break the plastic to do it incorrectly, being difficult removal.

Review Sony Ericsson W8: Walkman

Review Sony Ericsson W8: Android in a compact size

Android OS and UI

The user interface of Sony Ericsson is inherited cell as the Xperia X10 mini and X8, retaining the four corners that allow exchange shortcuts to different applications most used. Widgets are limited to one per screen, making tedious direct access to each of the functions.

Regarding overall performance and fluid passages are not locked at any time. However, their low capacity to store applications, plus the inability to move applications to the SD memory severely limits the smartphone and those users constantly downloading games and applications from Android Market.

Sony Ericsson W8-

Telephony

The phone operation is acceptable, with a clear and audible sound for both speaking and listening; we notice no significant advantages or disadvantages.

Music

It is in this area where the SE W8 stands out – and should do so because it would be attacking the Sony Ericsson W8 Walkman brand. The quality of the music player is excellent with a very good frequency response for both acute to severe, despite not having an equalizer.

As the player is pretty basic and does not stand out on the default player Android or any other option for music available on the Android Market. Its FM radio with RDS can be a great addition for some tuning and interface is well thought out, but you need headphones plugged in to use.

Camera

The Sony Ericsson W8 has a 3.2 mega pixel camera, no flash, no zoom (both optical and digital) and a too simple interface, with the option to capture photos or videos, and four modes capture setting: Automatic, Beach/Snow, Light and Sports Media.

Users who are looking for a smartphone with basic camera functions may find better options in other smartphones, with at least flash. Yet, the camera does the job, taking clear and acceptable quality for photos shared on social networks.

Connectivity

The Sony Ericsson W8, like most Android smartphones, has extensive connectivity options through Wi-Fi b / g, Bluetooth v2.1, GPS with a GPS, microUSB, all of good performance, thanks to layers of robustness operating system provided by Google.

Games and Apps

With 128MB of RAM and 600MHz processor, the Sony Ericsson W8 might find some difficulty to running heavier applications and games. The Angry Birds had an acceptable performance, but when the levels requiring more screen graphics, the game begins to bind.

If we just play games that do not require powerful graphics and rendering complex, the W8 acceptably fulfills the basic entertainment.

Conclusion

The Sony Ericsson W8 is certainly not one of the top lines of smartphones Sony Ericsson, and is not designed for it, but to bring Android to the masses. The W8 might well have been a feature phone as the Sony Ericsson Yen do. However, the addition of Android is welcome.

Surprising that Sony Ericsson Walkman brand has used a mid-range smartphone, but the W8 does justice to the badge with outstanding sound that music lovers will appreciate immediately long as they use some better than the included headphones.

Nor can we deny that European Sony Ericsson, despite not winning any prize item is nice and comfortable and sophisticated design.

Those give importance to the camera, may prefer to lean toward the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini that has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, although sacrificing an inch on your screen.

In conclusion, the Sony Ericsson W8 is a great phone for those who wish to enter the world of smartphones for about $ 200, provided they do not mind not having the latest operating system from Google with fast processors and big screens.
