Rayman Legends is the direct sequel to the excellent Rayman Origins to be released in 2011. Some may know of Rayman by mobile version that was released last year on iOS and Android, other perhaps the Raving Rabbids that were launched in 2006 with the Wii and they are super funny. Or perhaps know of its true origin back in 1995 when he left for the PlayStation 1. But the franchise has evolved quite right 18 and Rayman Legends is perfecting a formula that ensures fun for the whole family.
There is not much story to tell. Rayman and his friends have taken a nap than 100 years and are awakened to rescue creatures called Teensies. The only way is jumping platforms, collecting items and giving blows the bad guys, which is what we do best Rayman.
The graphics and animations are awesome. They are possibly the most attractive I’ve seen in games of this type. The attention to detail and variety of settings ensure you never feel repetitive. On one level they are escaping from a giant wrestler jumping on platforms made of guacamole, and another will be on the seabed playing at being James Bond. What makes you think what fun it must be creative sessions the game developers.
They were amazed at the variety of content you have this game.
Another thing you will notice is the frequent doses of positivism that exposes you to. Every time you find a secret or you complete a level you feel like they’re celebrating your birthday. This feeling is reinforced by the excellent sound effects and flawless soundtrack.
Which brings us to one of the most fun parts of the game that are the musical levels? In total there are only about 6 but are very good. What they do is combine the best of Mario and Guitar Hero an experience without precedent. Classical Music, Rock & Roll, heavy metal and J-Pop can be played in perfect synchronization between sound and images. It’s like if you were doing jumping and pounding music. It is just great to watch the video below:
Bam-a-Lam!
The controls are incredibly accurate and accessible, even for a child of 5 years. They can play alone or with up to 4 friends locally. Another interesting mechanic is when the fairy Murphy has to interact with the scene. In fact the game was designed to leverage the capabilities of the Wii U but has been elegantly adapted to all other platforms using an additional button.
If you do not smile in musical levels means you are dead inside
- Unlocking everything the game has to offer will probably take you more than 20 hours and that’s without counting:
- Daily and weekly challenges that you can compete against the world
- The 40 remastered levels from Rayman Origins.
- 8-bit versions of musical levels.
- And Kung Foot, but that is football with punches. He could have been a game in itself because it is incredibly fun.
- So essence sure Rayman Legends continue playing for several months.
The only points that prevent this a perfect game is that when more than 2 players on screen, things can get a little chaotic and there are some advanced levels that are ruthlessly difficult that could frustrate the less experienced. So do not think that having cute cartoons this is an easy game. Good thing the challenges always feel fair, thanks to the excellent level design.
This is a game that exercises your perseverance and muscles of your fingers.
