Nintendo 3DS breaks records in 2013 and is preparing for a great 2014

In the 2013 video game sales records were broken for the console Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo plans more sensational to continue that trend during the 2014 games.

This is a summary of the figures achieved in 2013:


  1. More than 16 million games were sold in physical and digital format for Nintendo 3DS in 2013. This represents an increase of over 45% on 2012.

  2. The family of handheld Nintendo 3DS, which also includes XL and Nintendo 3DS Nintendo 2DS, exceeded 11.5 million total sales in the United States since its launch.

  3. Seven games for Nintendo 3DS went on sale this year have at least a score of 85 on Metacritic, including two games with 90 or more ( The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Fire Emblem Awakening ).

“No step will decline in 2014. We are preparing more games favorite series of all, so the 3DS best days are yet to come, “said Scott Moffitt, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Nintendo of America.


Nintendo has planned great games from Nintendo 3DS in early 2014 to continue this momentum. Yoshi’s New Island will be available in stores and Nintendo eShop store on March 14. The game is produced by Takashi Tezuka, the creative director of Yoshi’s Island Original Super NES. Yoshi and Baby Mario, together again, will tour beautiful scenery while trying to reach safety. Smokey and the flits, aplastones and releases eggs, along with some new measures using the unique features of Nintendo 3DS.


Disney Magical World is a new game that includes many Disney characters in different worlds with Disney designs. Players can customize their characters with hundreds of costumes and accessories with designs by Disney while managing a cafe, sow crops and collect pictures of Disney characters. Players will have different characters to help solve problems or to find lost objects. The game will be available in stores and Nintendo eShop on April 11.


Now available exclusively on Nintendo eShop a trial version of the amazing RPG Bravely Default from Square Enix. The trial version includes extensive content that is not part of the main game, but those who purchase the full game will transfer part of its progress. The full game will be available in stores and Nintendo eShop on February 7.


Professor Layton and the Legacy Azran challenge players with over 150 intriguing puzzles. In the final episode of the second trilogy of Professor Layton, players will embark on an adventure around the world in search of lost artifacts Azran. The game will be available in stores and Nintendo eShop on February 28.
